Who We Are

At Radical Ancestral Health, LLC, we believe every individual has the capacity to heal and thrive when given the right tools. We aim to support our clients in navigating the often conflicting advice they are bombarded with to find their own path to healthy living. Our multi-modality wellness practice provides individualized attention to uncover the root cause of the stress, pain, and dysfunction our clients are experiencing, and give them the tools and resources needed for their body, mind, and soul. We refer to our integrated body-mind lived experience of ourselves in the world as Soma. We empower people to become agents of change so they can facilitate their own healing. Only when we learn to recognize and tackle the root causes of our symptoms, are we able to achieve true health.

Our work does not replace medical care but aims to complement the care you’re receiving from your healthcare practitioner. We enter into the process and provide holistic support to make your recovery more effective. As such, we welcome any collaboration with your healthcare providers.

Meet Tere Sandoval-Schaefer, DS, RWP, FNTP

I practice Functional Nutrition and Restorative Wellness providing compassionate, stigma-free support to individuals struggling with chronic stress and burnout or who are feeling physically and mentally drained and are seeking guidance in living a healthier, more vibrant life. My approach is to offer a holistic and personalized plan based on a nutrient-dense whole food diet, paired with a balanced lifestyle that adapts to my client’s needs. I hold a Doctorate in Biomedical Sciences with many years of research experience, which I effectively apply to my Functional Nutrition practice. I take on each challenge as a ‘small research project’, collaborating with my client to uncover the root causes of their complaints and then supporting them every step of the way, as they begin their own transformational journey. My goal is for my clients to feel in control of their lives so they can sleep better, be focused, productive and centered, and reignite the passion for all the things they used to enjoy in life. I believe that health is not a goal but a continuous journey and I teach my clients tools to not only maintain their health but to build a more resilient self, able to overcome the multiple challenges of life.

Meet Andy Schaefer, PhD, CSE, PTA

I am a Clinical Somatic Movement Educator helping individuals who are suffering with unresolved musculoskeletal pain and movement restrictions as a result of physical trauma, accidents, stress, and overuse. I help my clients free their bodies from pain so they can live their lives to the fullest. I hold a PhD in Neurosciences and am a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant. I blend my expertise as a highly cited academic research scientist with many years of practical clinical experience to break down the most complicated brain science into easy-to-apply principles for my clients. I take full advantage of the neurophysiological principles of learning and movement control to provide collaborative guidance in identifying and then releasing unconsciously maintained chronic muscle contraction (tension) patterns. I offer both verbal movement instruction and hands-on manual feedback techniques that instill greater mind-body integration and ease of movement, which impact both physical and emotional freedom.

Functional Nutritional Therapy

Functional Nutritional Therapy is based on the belief that there is no “one-size fits all” when it comes to diet, but any dietary recommendation must be rooted on prioritizing properly-prepared, nutrient-dense whole foods, and must be customized to each person’s needs and circumstances.

Clinical Somatic Movement Education

Clinical Somatic Movement Education is a mindful movement practice inspired by the work of Thomas Hanna, PhD that teaches us how to move toward greater mind-body integration, ease of movement, and both physical and emotional freedom.



“When I first started seeing Teresa I was at a loss, I was struggling with chronic yeast – presenting itself as a thrush, it had been ongoing for over a year. At this point I had seen many different doctors all of whom just kept giving me the same medication that would then cause other ailments and never fixed my problem. It is rare to work with a practitioner who has such a deep understanding of both neuroscience and physical therapy. I am a retired physician, now learning to cope with a new reality of Parkinson’s Disease. This is causing painful rigidity, dystonic muscle cramps and reduced mobility. My brain isn’t sending the right signals to my body, which isn’t listening. Over the years I’ve pursued many different movement and mindfulness options: yoga, tai chi, Feldenkrais. Andy’s classes in somatic education have been the most useful for my current challenges. Andy’s calm instructions helped me to learn how to relax my body and move more easily.
